The most important and positive thing that happened to me after joining Think Africa was the shift in my mindset. After engaging with ambitious people from different and diverse backgrounds, I came to realize that I can do anything no matter what, no matter my background, that is one thing that I have gotten from Think Africa  (Listen to Bancy’s full testimonial here).

By highlighting innovation, entrepreneurship, opportunities for business in Africa and the role of youth, Think Africa Week, an annual flagship event by Think Africa, is doing a great job in conveying a more diversified picture on today’s Africa – a continent of 54 different countries. The Week, which itself is a product of the active Finnish-African diaspora, has succeeded in highlighting the positive role the diaspora can play in strengthening cooperation between Finland and African countries. I also see it as an important platform for dialogue and mutual learning.

Think Africa has been an active collaborator in promoting the mission of Moniheli ry, which is to enhance the integration and well-being of immigrants in order for them to become empowered and equal members of the Finnish society. As a Moniheli member association, Think Africa has been represented in the Board of Directors for the past two years and has played an active role in the development of the organization. Think Africa has actively contributed to the empowerment of diasporas in Finland through her activities, one of which was the Professional Mentorship Program, a project that was supported by Moniheli.
