100+ members, 22 countries represented
Think Africa isn't just an organisation, it's a community of people who show up for each other. Our members are professionals, students, entrepreneurs, creatives, and families from across the African diaspora, all building their lives in Finland and making this country richer for it.
When you become a member, you join a network that stretches across more than 20 countries and is grounded in one shared belief: that we are stronger together. Whether you're new to Finland and looking for your footing or well-established and ready to give back, there's a place for you here.
Membership is just 15€ per year for students and unemployed and 20€ for everyone else, a small contribution that fuels everything we do.
Why join Think Africa
Membership gives you a place in a community that values your journey and creates concrete pathways for growth, visibility, connection, and contribution. Being a member of Think Africa means you're never navigating Finland alone. Here's what membership gives you:
- Real connections, not just contacts: meet people who understand your journey at our regular in-person and virtual events, from career workshops and networking evenings to cultural celebrations.
- The chance to lead, not just participate: members play a direct role in shaping Think Africa's activities, projects, and programmes. If you see a gap, you can play a role in filling it.
- Access to resources and support: whether you're launching a project, pivoting in your career, or looking for mentorship, our community and programmes are here to help you move forward.
- A voice in how the organisation is run: have your say at General Meetings, vote on key decisions, and stay informed with regular updates on the organisation's direction.
- A path to leadership within Think Africa: become eligible to join our Board of Directors, a trusted position highly valued in Finland, and gain the right to run in and vote in board elections.
